Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sibiha, announced the demand for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC), stating that 78 civilians have lost their lives in recent attacks by the Russian army against his country.
elchi reports that Sibiha, in a post on his social media account, drew attention to Ukraine being subjected to strong air attacks recently and noted: “Ukraine has demanded a meeting of the UN Security Council in response to Russia’s new wave of terror.”
Sibiha mentioned that the Russian army attacked the city of Pryluky on October 7 and targeted two passenger buses in Kramatorsk yesterday, adding that attacks were also organized against the capital Kyiv, resulting in 78 deaths and 215 injuries in the past few days.
Sibiha stated: “The war criminal [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, who cannot achieve any results on the battlefield, is intensifying terror against Ukraine’s civilian population.”
Emphasizing that Russia’s Permanent Mission to the UN is “illegitimate,” Sibiha said: “The international community must adhere to the principles of the UN Charter and provide a concrete and adequate response to Russia’s actions.”
