Baku-Moscow-Baku flights temporarily suspended

“Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC (AZAL) has temporarily suspended a number of flights on the Baku-Moscow-Baku route.

elchi reports this, citing AZAL.

According to the information, changes have occurred in the execution of AZAL’s J2-185/J2-186 Baku–Moscow (Domodedovo)–Baku and J2-805/J2-806 Baku–Moscow (Vnukovo)–Baku flights scheduled for October 9 due to restrictions applied in Russian airspace.

Namely, the J2-185 Baku–Moscow flight, carried out in the morning, made a forced landing in St. Petersburg. Due to renewed restrictions in the airspace, the aircraft could not return to Baku. Also, the J2-805 Baku–Moscow flight, carried out in the morning, returned to Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The existing restrictions have also affected the timely arrival of aircraft at their destination airports and the execution of subsequent flights. For this reason, the evening flights J2-186 and J2-806 planned on the respective routes have also been postponed.

Azerbaijan’s national carrier is closely monitoring the situation and taking measures to provide necessary support to passengers. Passengers will be informed about changes in the flight schedule through official information channels.

Passenger and flight safety remains the top priority for AZAL. All operational decisions are made taking into account the current situation and safety requirements.
