The European Union has expressed its gratitude to Azerbaijan for providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine, emphasizing its special importance in the context of ongoing attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure and preparations for winter.
This was stated by a representative of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
“Azerbaijan is a reliable energy partner for the EU and contributes to the necessary support for Ukraine. As noted by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, during her visit to Azerbaijan, the EU is grateful to Azerbaijan for the humanitarian aid it has provided to Ukraine,” the representative emphasized in response to a query from “Report”.
According to him, in addition to the support of the EU and its member states, the assistance of other international partners, including Azerbaijan, plays an important role. This helps to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs and strengthen its resilience.
The EU’s foreign policy official noted that Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cities, critical infrastructure, and civilians are aimed at intimidating residents, undermining the economy, and weakening the country’s resilience, especially as winter approaches.
It should be recalled that on October 7, Azerbaijan sent another batch of electrical equipment as humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The total value of the shipment was 2.5 million manats. It included transformers, 186 km of electrical cables, wires, and other equipment necessary for the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
