A court in China’s Shanxi province has sentenced 41 people to prison for various charges related to serious accidents in mines.
“Elchi” reports, citing information released by the “Xinhua” agency.
According to the investigation, they committed a number of illegal or unlawful acts, including signing contracts for land work and mineral extraction with brigades lacking appropriate qualifications, failing to prepare comprehensive accident-response plans, and using unlicensed vehicles in production.
These actions led to 48 serious accidents and the deaths of 54 people between 2006 and 2022.
The court sentenced the accused to prison terms ranging from 1 to 16 years, depending on the severity of their illegal actions.
