The World Bank may provide credit and technical assistance for the reconstruction project of the Bilasuvar-Astara section of the M3 highway.
elchi reports that this issue was discussed during a meeting between the First Deputy Minister of Finance, Anar Karimov, and a delegation led by the Regional Director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus, Roland Price.
It was stated that the “Regional Roads and Development” project was completed in March of this year. As a continuation of cooperation in the road sector, work is currently underway on the preparation of the reconstruction project for the Bilasuvar-Astara section of the M3 highway, as well as on providing credit and technical assistance for this project by the World Bank.
During the meeting, preparatory work for the World Bank’s “Access to Finance for Jobs and Economic Growth” – FINGROW project was also discussed. The project envisages the formation of partial credit guarantee and capital financing mechanisms.
The World Bank side expressed its readiness to provide financial and expert support for initiatives aimed at expanding access to finance and developing transport infrastructure.
