After the deal is completed, the merged “Paramount Skydance” and “Warner Bros. Discovery” company will bear the name “Skydance”.
elchi reports that the CEO of “Paramount Skydance”, David Ellison, announced this on “X”.
According to him, this name was chosen to preserve the identity of the “Paramount” and “Warner Bros.” studios and to avoid creating a new brand that would overshadow them.
“We never wanted a new corporate identity to diminish, alter, or overshadow the significance of either of these companies,” Ellison stated.
He noted that “Skydance” will be the name of the merged company, while “Paramount”, “Warner Bros.”, and other brands under its umbrella will retain their names.
Earlier, a US court allowed “Paramount Skydance” to finalize the deal to acquire “Warner Bros. Discovery” for $110 billion. The decision put an end to months of delays in the agreement.
The merger is expected to be completed next week.
