“Minsk is considering a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.”
elchi reports that Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov stated this.
“We are considering a practical meeting between the presidents,” the minister said.
According to Ryzhenkov, although Trump had previously invited Lukashenko to a Peace Council meeting held in the US, Minsk could not accept the invitation due to technical difficulties with flights from Belarus to the US. The Foreign Minister explained that the travel difficulty is related to, among other issues, the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Lukashenko and flight restrictions for Belarusian aircraft.
