The international presence of the Turkic Council (Organization of Turkic States) is more significant.
elchi reports that this was stated in a statement issued by the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Kubanıçbek Ömüralıyev, on the occasion of the Turkic Cooperation Day.
Stating that 17 years have passed since the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement “On the establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States”, the Secretary General said that during this period, the Turkic states have united around a simple but strong belief. He specifically emphasized that cooperation between the Turkic Council countries covers 64 mechanisms.
“The transformation of the Turkic Council cannot be measured solely by the increasing number of meetings, mechanisms, or areas of cooperation. The growing confidence of the Turkic states in acting together and interacting with the wider international community is equally important. Our political consultations have become more substantive, our institutional networks have strengthened, and our relations with international organizations and foreign partners have continued to expand. Our political dialogue has become more regular and substantive,” the statement read.
At the same time, drawing attention to the fact that the Turkic Council has developed a stronger international profile, K. Ömüralıyev stated that relations with international and regional organizations, third countries, and other partners have expanded. He emphasized that cooperation between the Turkic states is now determined not only by what they do among themselves but also by the contributions they can make together to regional stability, connectivity, sustainable development, dialogue, and international cooperation.
“Today, our countries and peoples realize more than ever the potential we possess when we work together. We understand more clearly that cooperation enhances our individual strength, and the historical and cultural ties that unite us are not just a legacy of the past but also a strong foundation for building our common future,” the Secretary General said.
He also specifically noted that none of the aforementioned could have been realized without the political will, foresight, and unwavering support of the heads of state of the Turkic Council countries.
“Turkic World Vision – 2040″ presents us with our long-term direction. Our task in the coming years is to realize this vision with more determination – to deepen our economic and physical connectivity, embrace technological transformation, strengthen the resilience and well-being of our societies, invest in our young generations, and ensure that our cooperation yields results that our citizens can see and feel,” emphasized Kubanıçbek Ömüralıyev.
He also stated that as internal cooperation strengthens, relations with the wider world should also strengthen:
“A more united and self-confident Turkic world can be a stronger partner for the international community and can contribute to peace, stability, connectivity, sustainable development, and dialogue in our wider region and beyond. The Turkic Council rests on stronger foundations today. Its institutions are more mature, its cooperation is deeper, its partnerships are broader, and its international presence is more significant. Above all, the determination of our states and peoples to continue this path together is stronger.”
