Early marriage of a 15-year-old girl prevented in Aghdam

Necessary measures have been taken by relevant authorities regarding a 15-year-old girl leaving her home without her family’s knowledge in Aghdam district.

This was reported to elchi by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs.

On October 1, the family of Samira Hasanova (a conditional name), a resident of Aghdam district born on September 12, 2011, reported to the “102” Service-Call Center that she had left her place of residence and gone in an unknown direction.

Immediately after the information was received, search operations were launched by police officers. An investigation into the matter was also conducted by the Aghdam Center for Support to Children and Families of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs, and coordination with relevant authorities was carried out.

During the investigation, it was determined that the minor had left her family without their knowledge with the intention of marrying a person from Shamkir district. Taking into account her age of 15, her whereabouts were quickly identified and she was found and returned to her family as a result of operational measures taken by police officers.

Thus, the minor’s safety was ensured, and her involvement in early marriage was prevented.

The investigation into the matter is currently ongoing by the Aghdam District Police Department.
