Iran Protests to Norway Regarding “Starlink” Issue

Iran summoned Norway’s ambassador to Tehran, accusing the country of failing to take necessary measures against the unauthorized operation of “Starlink” in Iranian territory.
elchi reports that according to a written statement from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Paal Bjornestad was informed that Norway, as the responsible party for the registration and notification of “Starlink” satellite systems with the International Telecommunication Union, has not taken the required steps.
Ambassador Bjornestad was reminded of allegations regarding the use of the “Starlink” system by the US and Israel in actions directed against Iran, and an official note of protest regarding Norway’s position on the matter was submitted.
The Norwegian ambassador was reminded of his country’s obligations to the International Telecommunication Union and was urged to “take urgent and effective measures” to prevent unauthorized “Starlink” transmissions in Iranian territory.
