Azerbaijani poet-journalist, publicist, and academician of the International Academy of Sciences Emil Nasirli has been elected as a member of the Writers’ Union of Georgia (WUG).
In the city of Tbilisi, at the administrative building of the Writers’ Union of Georgia (WUG), a presentation ceremony was held for the poetry book titled “Hər yerdə sənsən” by poet-journalist, publicist, and academician of the International Academy of Sciences Emil Nasirli, which has been translated into Georgian.
The event was attended by the Chairperson of the Writers’ Union of Georgia, Ms. Makvala Gonashvili, literary figures from Georgia and Azerbaijan, Manana Dumbadze, the daughter of the prominent Georgian Soviet writer, editor, and screenwriter Nodar Dumbadze, well-known public figure and writer Revaz Mishveladze, Professor Marika Jikia, Head of the Turkology Department at Tbilisi State University, other influential figures who value the word, and representatives of the Georgian public.
Chairperson of the Writers’ Union of Georgia Ms. Makvala Gonashvili spoke about Emil Nasirli’s work, noting that his works reflect a sense of devotion and respect for the motherland, the people, the land, and friendship. Makvala Gonashvili stated that the friendly and fraternal tones towards the Georgian state and people in Emil Nasirli’s work are highly appreciated by the Georgian public. The Writers’ Union of Georgia analyzed Emil Nasirli’s works and expressed their desire to see such a creative person in their ranks.
“We are always ready to support works, poems, novels, and stories translated into the Georgian language, books dedicated to the development of Azerbaijani-Georgian literary relations, and translations,” Makvala Gonashvili noted, also emphasizing that the labor of such people, who play a role in the development of the culture of two friendly and sister countries and our cultural relations, cannot be ignored.
Then, Makvala Gonashvili presented the membership card of the Writers’ Union of Georgia to Emil Nasirli.
“I believe that this book, which brings together the poems penned by Emil Nasirli in his exquisitely published poetry book titled ‘Hər yerdə sənsən’ translated into Georgian, will capture the attention of readers. I believe that our literary friend, poet-publicist Emil Nasirli, will continue to create interesting, readable, and beloved pieces of poetry on these themes. Relying on this belief, I wish success for Emil Nasirli’s next book,” said Makvala Gonashvili as she handed the floor over to Emil Nasirli.
First, poet-journalist, publicist, and academician of the International Academy of Sciences Emil Nasirli expressed his gratitude for the trust, attention, and care shown by the leadership and members of the Writers’ Union of Georgia.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Emil Nasirli noted that literary friendship relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are continuously developing. Visits by the leadership and employees of literature and culture institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, and their close relations with the relevant institutions of our country and the Azerbaijani community, contribute to the further deepening of our relations. E. Nasirli also added that we, as writers, should be the ones to join in expanding literary relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Because the most important instrument in art and literature is the word. Both the Georgian and Azerbaijani governments have always shown and will continue to show their goodwill support for the expansion of cultural relations.
Emil Nasirli also emphasized that he is presenting these poems published in the poetry book titled “Hər yerdə sənsən” by gathering them together in book format to poetry lovers in friendly and fraternal Georgia. Emil Nasirli, who never tires of writing and poetic pursuits, specifically noted that he has met with readers through many poetry books in recent years.
Then, Emil Nasirli recited poems from his exquisitely published poetry book titled “Hər yerdə sənsən”, translated into Georgian, which address the concerns of our modern world, the problems faced by the world, the pain and sorrow of the homeland, and the ancient and powerful history of his people in the language of poetry at the presentation ceremony.
At the end of the event, Emil Nasirli presented copies of the poetry book titled “Hər yerdə sənsən”, translated into Georgian, as a gift to the participants of the ceremony and took commemorative photos with them.
