Within the framework of the Great Return program, the resettlement of 180 families, a total of 591 people, to Sugovushan has been ensured.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in Khankendi city, Aghdara, and Khojaly regions, information provided to “Elchi” states that a secondary school with 144 student places has been completely renovated and put into use by students. In Sugovushan, the “Sugovushan-1” and “Sugovushan-2” Small Hydropower Plants have been rebuilt to strengthen the electricity supply.
A new mosque has also been built and put into use in Sugovushan village.
In Talish village, 20 private houses have been restored and rebuilt in the initial phase, ensuring the return of 20 families, a total of 90 people, to the village. In Talish village, a school with 78 student places, a kindergarten, an administrative building, and public catering facilities have also been restored and rebuilt. The return of residents to their native land within the framework of the Great Return program continues in stages in the village. Modern social, communal, and road transport infrastructure has been created in both villages to ensure the comfortable and safe living of residents. Internal village roads have been built, streets have been landscaped, and the necessary conditions for smooth traffic have been created. Medical posts have been established in Sugovushan and Talish villages. Modern infrastructure has been built to provide both villages with uninterrupted electricity, drinking water, natural gas, and high-speed internet. Thus, all necessary communal facilities have been created to ensure the comfortable and sustainable daily life of the residents.
Important projects have also been implemented in Sugovushan for the development of social and public infrastructure, as well as for the effective use of the village’s tourism potential. A new park has been created around the Sugovushan Reservoir. The park has been developed as a modern and convenient place for the rest of residents and visitors to the village.
Besides, in Sugovushan, a school, social and service facilities, energy infrastructure, and tourism facilities have been created or restored. In Talish village, a school, kindergarten, administrative, and other social facilities have also been put into use. The restoration and construction work carried out in Sugovushan and Talish villages, along with the renewal of the housing stock and road infrastructure, also covers the fields of social, communal, education, healthcare, energy, communication, and tourism.
It should be noted that 6 years have passed since the liberation of Sugovushan and Talish villages of the Aghdara region from occupation. The Azerbaijani Army liberated the strategically important villages of Sugovushan and Talish in the northern front on October 3, 2020, on the 7th day of the Patriotic War.
