Today, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev received a delegation consisting of representatives from more than 20 European countries from the Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST) of the Council of the European Union.

He noted that the Azerbaijan-European Union partnership is of strategic importance and develops on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and common benefit: “Recently, the political dialogue has intensified through high-level contacts, and practical cooperation has gained significant momentum.
Azerbaijan’s contribution to Europe’s energy security and its strategic role in regional connectivity, especially through the Middle Corridor, are among the important aspects of EU-Azerbaijan relations. At the same time, cooperation is expanding into the areas of clean energy, digital transformation and innovation, as well as investments.
This year, we have expanded our security dialogue into the format of a Political and Security Dialogue and are working on a new comprehensive bilateral agreement, as well as updated Partnership Priorities.
The developing bilateral agenda creates opportunities to translate common interests into practical results”.
