Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Defense Ministries Signed a “Bilateral Military Cooperation” Plan

A delegation from the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan has arrived in our country to participate in the “ADEX-2026” 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition and the High-Level Observer Day of the “Strength of Unity – 2026” joint military exercise, held at the Baku Expo Center.

Within the framework of meetings held at the international exhibition on September 30, 2026, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Shuxrat Kholmuxamedov.

Welcoming the official guest, Colonel-General Z. Hasanov once again emphasized that military cooperation between our countries is based on friendship, brotherhood, alliance, historical and cultural roots, and expressed the importance of mutual visits and sincere meetings in the positive development of our relations.

Expressing his satisfaction with the visit to the brotherly country, Lieutenant General Sh. Kholmuxamedov noted the participation of our military personnel in international events and joint exercises, the exchange of mutual experience, and the establishment of friendly relations as a positive factor in the expansion of our cooperation. He expressed his deep gratitude to Colonel-General Z. Hasanov for the high-level organization and conduct of the “Strength of Unity – 2026” joint military exercise.

The parties discussed the current state and development prospects of our relations in the military, military education, and military-technical fields, and also had a detailed conversation on issues of mutual interest.
Finally, a “Bilateral Military Cooperation” plan for 2027 was signed between the Ministries of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
