“Concepts such as sovereignty, constitution, identity, freedom, and democracy are of particular importance, especially for countries fighting for their sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Robert Kalinak, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic, at a reception held in Baku on the occasion of the Constitution Day and Armed Forces Day of the Slovak Republic.
He stated that these words carry a completely different meaning in a country that is fighting for its sovereignty and protecting its territory: “Azerbaijan has shown that it is possible to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. I once again congratulate Azerbaijan on the successful outcome of its 30-year struggle. Together with our friends and allies in the European Union and NATO, we always declare that we are fighting for peace and that peace is the most important value for our peoples. However, we do not want to be fair-weather allies.”
He noted that the security situation in Europe is complex and mentioned that Slovakia supports its allies within the framework of NATO: “I am very pleased to be here, to celebrate our national holiday with you, and to participate in the important ADEX defense exhibition tomorrow.”
