The number of Ukrainian refugees who have entered Romania since February 10, 2022, has exceeded 16 million.
elchi reports that the country’s Border Police Department has released information regarding this.
According to the agency’s data, 16,029,242 Ukrainians have arrived in the country between February 10, 2022, and September 24, 2026. The Romanian authorities have been conducting this calculation process since February 10, 2022, and classify the period from February 10 to 24 of that year as the “pre-conflict phase.”
Currently, approximately 200,000 Ukrainian refugees are settled in Romania. Precise statistics are not available because many Ukrainians who receive asylum in the country use Romania as a transit point and subsequently head to Western Europe.
