Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the law on the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement with Turkey.
“Elchi” reports, citing Ukrainian media, that the relevant information has been published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
It is noted that the agreement is aimed at developing bilateral economic cooperation, expanding sales markets for Ukrainian producers, creating new opportunities for business, as well as developing and modernizing local production.
The Free Trade Agreement was signed in Kyiv on February 3, 2022, by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Muş, following 12 rounds of negotiations held between 2011 and 2022.
The Turkish parliament ratified the document in early August 2024, while the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified it on July 14, 2026.
The agreement will enter into force after the completion of domestic procedures and the exchange of instruments of ratification between the two countries.
