Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Negotiation Delegation, stated regarding claims that Iran’s frozen assets would be used for the purchase of specific products after their release, that “there are no restrictions on frozen assets.”

Regarding the claims that Iran’s frozen assets would be used for the purchase of specific products after their release, he said, “There are no restrictions on frozen assets. They will be used in whatever way benefits the country.”
Baghaei also stated that they did not meet with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi during the talks in Switzerland, and that the IAEA has no program to begin inspections at nuclear facilities damaged in US-Israeli attacks.
Baghaei also emphasized that if the US fulfills its obligations specified in the memorandum of understanding, Iran will not fulfill its obligations unilaterally.
Stressing the importance of fulfilling the obligations in the memorandum of understanding for the start of nuclear negotiations and the lifting of sanctions, Baghaei said, “Iran’s defense capability and missile program have not been discussed in any way during the negotiations and will never be a subject of negotiation.”
