Qatar’s Prime Minister to visit Iran tomorrow

The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, will visit Tehran tomorrow to meet with high-ranking Iranian officials.

“Elchi” reports that the official spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed Al-Ansari, wrote about this on his “X” social media page.

“He will discuss with them ways to reduce tensions and create conditions for dialogue. This visit reflects Qatar’s firm position that diplomacy is the best way to resolve conflicts and strengthen security and stability in the region,” he noted.

According to Al-Ansari, the discussions will also touch upon the issues of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the necessity of returning the situation to its pre-war state.

“Al Thani’s visit to Tehran will take place within the framework of ongoing consultations with Iran aimed at expanding bilateral relations, as well as strengthening peace and security in the region,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, according to information published by “Tasnim”.

Baghaei praised Qatar’s good-faith efforts in recent months to help prevent the escalation of regional tensions following the military aggression by America and Israel against Iran:

“There will be a discussion and exchange of views regarding the continuation of Qatar’s mediation efforts and initiatives, as well as other processes in the region.”
