At the “Shahtakhti” customs post of the Nakhchivan Main Customs Office, a customs inspection was carried out using a service dog to search for narcotics in a vehicle transporting “mixed food” cargo from Iran to Great Britain in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan.
The department reported that as a result, a large quantity – 4 kilograms 500 grams of narcotic substance – opium was discovered in a hidden compartment made by artisanal means in the lower part of the vehicle’s tractor refrigerator.
An investigation into the fact is underway.
