Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that the peoples of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine maintain close historical ties and will be able to redevelop their relations in the future based on their shared cultural and historical heritage.

elchi reports that the Belarusian leader said this during a meeting in Minsk with the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko.

According to him, he recently discussed this issue with representatives of the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I am sure, and I told Zelenskyy’s representatives recently – our peoples will be together no matter what. Sooner or later, we will be together,” Lukashenko said.

He also noted that he considers Russia and Belarus to be close, brotherly states. In his opinion, strong ties exist between the peoples – political circumstances cannot completely destroy them.

At the same time, Lukashenko emphasized the numerous family, cultural, and historical bonds that unite the peoples of the three countries. He noted that these relations have developed over many generations and remain an important factor.

The Belarusian leader also stressed that there are forces intending to disrupt the unity of the East Slavic peoples, but expressed confidence that such attempts cannot change the common history of the peoples of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.
