The Russian President emphasized during the Russia-ASEAN summit held in Kazan that “Vietnam is our long-term and reliable partner, and not just a partner, but also our ally. The Russia-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership is based on strong traditions of friendship, trust, and mutual assistance.”
According to the Russian leader, by the end of 2025, mutual trade between Russia and Vietnam will exceed 6 billion dollars, and this positive trend will continue in 2026.
The event is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). A large-scale forum was held in the capital of Tatarstan from June 17 to 19. On Wednesday, the Russia-ASEAN Forum opened as part of the business program. Founded in 1967, ASEAN currently unites 11 countries: Brunei, East Timor, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. As Vladimir Putin has repeatedly noted, this union has become one of the main economic centers of the Asia-Pacific region, and according to him, the focus of global development has long since shifted.
