The Azerbaijani delegation, currently on a business trip to Turkey, attended the “Distinguished Observer Day” of the “EFES – 2026” multinational joint exercise held in the Doğanbey region of Izmir.

According to the information, the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, Army General Metin Tokel, delivered a report providing information on the general progress of the exercise, the purpose of the assigned tasks, and the sequence of their execution.
It was noted that for the first time in the “EFES – 2026” exercise, T625 GÖKBEY helicopters, 105 mm Boran towed howitzers, MEMATT mine-clearing vehicles, KARAOK, UMTAS, and L-UMTAS anti-tank missile systems, as well as ASLAN SARP UKKS unmanned ground-based reconnaissance and fire support vehicles are being utilized.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, Yaşar Güler, noted the importance of such exercises and wished the military personnel success.
President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who observed the exercise, greeted the participants of the “Distinguished Observer Day” in his speech and emphasized that the “EFES – 2026” exercise makes a great contribution to regional and global peace, tranquility, and stability.
Afterward, the units involved in the exercise practically executed various tactical episodes.
Then, high-ranking representatives observed demonstration flights of aviation assets, parachute jumps by special forces, and performances by the Mehteran Unit.
Guests who visited the Defense Industry Exhibition organized within the framework of the “Distinguished Observer Day” familiarized themselves with the displayed military weapons and equipment.
