Requirement to switch to electric stoves in residential buildings is introduced.
elchi reports that this is reflected in the document “Azerbaijan’s Long-Term Low-Carbon Development Strategy”.
Based on the document, within the framework of electrifying natural gas-powered equipment, a target is set for the transition to electric stoves in residential buildings by 2035. The use of renewable electricity to operate electric stoves is planned to be supported, and the installation of electric stoves in urban and rural areas is planned to be promoted.
Requirements for increasing the share of electric stoves to 100% in all buildings by 2060, and for all new buildings to have electric stoves, are also envisaged.
