Apple has stated that it is aware of an internal screen issue affecting a small number of these phones and has urged affected users to contact the company for a device replacement.
The launch of the “Duo” last week, which caused a rush of people to Apple stores worldwide, comes at a time when the brand is trying to refresh its product line and compete with the foldable phones produced by its rivals.
Some “Duo” owners have shared photos showing cracks appearing along the central crease of the screen; others have reported hearing cracking sounds when opening the device.
“iPhone Duo” user Justin Lokos shared a picture of his device with lines appearing on the right side of the screen. Lokos later shared a photo of the replacement device he received, thanking the Apple store in New York for their assistance.
