At the end of September, the number of payment cards in circulation within the systems of banks and “Azerpost” LLC increased by 414 thousand compared to the previous month, reaching 23 million 388 thousand.

The number of debit cards increased by 11.0%, while the number of credit cards decreased by 3.9%. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of domestic non-cash transactions has increased by 11.7% compared to the same period last year.
In September 2026, the volume of domestic non-cash payments made through cards amounted to 8,977 million manats. Of the non-cash payments made, 7,755 million manats were for e-commerce. The remaining amount of 1,220 million manats was carried out through POS terminals, 2 million manats through self-service terminals and ATMs.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of non-cash domestic transactions with payment cards has accounted for 69.7% of domestic card transactions.
