The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, received the delegation led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, General Miroslav Lorinc, who is on an official visit to our country.

It was stated that first, the guests visited the graves of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor, as well as the Alley of Martyrs, demonstrating deep respect for their memories.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Defense, Colonel General Z. Hasanov noted that traditional friendship and strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia have a positive impact on the expansion and strengthening of ties in the military field.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the current state of military cooperation and emphasized the importance of further developing these relations in the future.
Expressing gratitude for the sincere reception and hospitality shown, General M. Lorinc noted the necessity of mutual visits in expanding our military relations.
Following the passage in front of the honorary guard at the official welcoming ceremony organized at the General Staff, the State anthems of both countries were played, and the “Book of Honor” was signed in accordance with the protocol.
Later, the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, met with the Slovak delegation.
Discussions were held at the meetings regarding the further expansion of cooperation in the military, military-technical, and military education fields, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest in the defense sector.
