Individual on International Wanted List for Organizing Separatist Activities Brought to Azerbaijan and Arrested

As a result of ongoing operational-search measures carried out by the State Security Service, it has been ensured that Murad Garib oglu Fetiyev, who has been on the international wanted list since 2025, has been brought to Azerbaijan and subjected to investigation.

This was reported to elchi by the State Security Service.

According to the information, investigations have established that Murad Fetiyev, upon the instructions of radical centers operating from abroad, created various groups on social networks with the aim of fragmenting Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and inciting national hatred and enmity. He recruited representatives of minority ethnic groups living abroad and in Azerbaijan who held extremist ideas into these groups.

At the same time, he organized the selection of individuals who particularly stood out with their radical views, the collection of information about important strategic facilities in the country, and open calls for terrorism.

Some members of that criminal group were previously prosecuted and arrested for preparing to raid a state institution and take hostages with the aim of weakening Azerbaijan’s defense capabilities and economic security.

A court review has begun regarding the criminal case where Murad Fetiyev is accused under Article 214-2 (Open calls for terrorism), Article 283-1 (Incitement of national, racial, social, or religious hatred and enmity), and other articles of the Criminal Code.
