Tension between Russia and France due to nuclear missile test

The Kremlin has assessed France’s ballistic missile test, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, as a strategy based on confrontation with Russia and leading to a dead end.
Following the test of launching a ballistic missile from a submarine near the British coast, French President Emmanuel Macron, while not explicitly stating that the test directly targeted Russia, emphasized that the message intended for the relevant parties was delivered clearly and decisively.
The missile test was conducted at a time of heightened tension between Moscow and the West, against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine and an increase in hybrid attacks across Europe.
Kremlin criticizes the “dead end” strategy
Commenting on France’s move, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Europe is building its defense and security policy on the principle of confrontation with the Russian Federation.
Peskov said that this approach is a dead end and, as history has shown, will not yield positive results.
At the same time, two people were killed as a result of intensive Russian missile and drone attacks on the capital Kyiv during the night. Residents took shelter in metro stations after hearing explosions.
