On October 8, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the city of Turkmenbashi.
elchi reports that during the conversation, the visits of the President of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, and the visits of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Azerbaijan, including Karabakh, were recalled with satisfaction, and the important role of these visits in the development of bilateral relations was emphasized.
It was noted that the five visits between our countries at the highest level since last year are a clear indicator of the intensity of political dialogue and the dynamics of mutual relations.
At the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have been developing dynamically in recent years. Cooperation in political, economic, transport, transit, logistics, cultural, and humanitarian fields, as well as the issue of the Caspian Sea and cooperation within international organizations were discussed.
The importance of the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asian States for further strengthening the partnership between our country and the region’s states, expanding regional cooperation, and discussing issues of mutual interest was emphasized.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that this event was organized at a high level.
Recalling that Azerbaijan was accepted as a full member of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia in November last year, the head of state once again expressed his gratitude for the unanimous support of this historic initiative put forward by the Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The heads of state exchanged views on the development prospects of bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
