As a result of complex operational-search and customs control measures carried out by the employees of the Astara Customs Department, particularly large quantities of narcotic drugs were discovered and removed from illegal circulation.
elchi reports this, citing the State Customs Committee. It was noted that a customs inspection was carried out on a cargo vehicle coming to our country from the Islamic Republic of Iran on the import control line of the “Astara” customs post of the Department.
Although no items were found hidden from customs control in the vehicle during the customs inspection, the driver’s behavior raised suspicions among customs officers.
In this regard, a personal search of the driver was conducted. During the search, a particularly large quantity of narcotic drugs – methadone, consisting of 3000 pills in total, was discovered in 3 packages tied to his waist with a corset.
In addition, during customs control measures, 2 packages thrown by the driver into the customs post area were inspected.
During the inspection, a particularly large quantity of narcotic drugs – heroin, prepared in a homemade manner, with a total net weight of 2 kilograms 950 grams, was discovered in these packages. An investigation is underway regarding the fact.
