3 more electronic scales installed on highways

The installation of new technology-based electronic scales on public roads continues with the aim of protecting road infrastructure, extending the service life of roads, and ensuring traffic safety.

elchi reports that the Azerbaijan Surface Transport Agency announced this.

2 scales were installed on the M-2 Baku–Alat–Qazakh–State Border of the Republic of Georgia highway at the 91st km, in the territory of the Navahi settlement of Hajiqabul district, in the Baku and Qazakh directions, and 1 scale was installed on the M-6 Hajiqabul–Bahramtəpə–Mincivan highway at the 18th km, in the territory of Sabirabad district, in the direction of the capital.

Control measures using these electronic scales will begin on October 2nd.

It should be noted that the installation of new technology-based electronic scales on highways is carried out in stages. Electronic scales allow for automated control of compliance with the permissible weight parameters of freight vehicles.

When an administrative offense related to the operation of freight vehicles on public roads by exceeding the permissible weight parameters is detected by electronic scales, the information is transmitted directly to the central information system in real-time in electronic form, and an electronic decision on imposing an administrative penalty is issued.

Carriers are urged to strictly adhere to the requirements regarding the dimensions, weight, and axle load parameters established by law.
