On September 25, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzoda.
“Elchi” reports that stating that Azerbaijan and Tajikistan are friendly and brotherly countries, President Ilham Aliyev noted the existence of good opportunities for the further development of the potential for bilateral cooperation. He touched upon the importance of his visits to Tajikistan, the Tajik President’s visits to Azerbaijan, as well as other mutual visits at various levels in expanding our relations.
President Ilham Aliyev said that the visit of Kokhir Rasulzoda to our country provides an opportunity to discuss issues on the agenda, including transport and logistics, mutual economic activity, and increasing trade turnover.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception and the hospitality shown, Kokhir Rasulzoda conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to the head of our state.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his own greetings to the head of the Tajik state. The head of our state recalled with pleasure his meetings and conversations with Emomali Rahmon in Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, as well as within the framework of international events.
Emphasizing that Tajikistan highly appreciates the friendly and strategic partnership relations with Azerbaijan, the guest stated that thanks to the strong political will of the presidents of both countries and a dialogue based on trust, our cooperation has entered a new stage of development. In this regard, the Prime Minister recalled the “Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tajikistan” signed by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in Baku in 2024.
Kokhir Rasulzoda emphasized the personal contribution of President Ilham Aliyev to the expansion of our relations.
Touching upon the importance of Azerbaijan’s “ASAN service” model, the Prime Minister expressed interest in its implementation in Tajikistan.
During the conversation, issues of cooperation in the fields of metallurgy, energy, and agriculture, as well as the transit of Tajik goods through the territory of Azerbaijan via the Middle Corridor to international markets, were discussed.
Highlighting the historical ties between our peoples, it was noted that they share common roots. In this regard, the importance of holding regular mutual cultural, humanitarian, and sports events was stated.
The Prime Minister of Tajikistan expressed his gratitude for the quotas allocated by Azerbaijan for Tajik students.
Emphasizing that Azerbaijan and Tajikistan have great tourism potential, the importance of opening a direct flight between Baku and Dushanbe was touched upon, and the growth in the fields of tourism and passenger transport was noted with satisfaction. The importance of holding various events to present the tourism opportunities of our countries was emphasized.
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed, and an exchange of views took place regarding the prospects for bilateral relations.
