Construction of 47 facilities with a total value of 7 billion dollars has started in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has launched the construction of 47 facilities with a total value of 7 billion dollars in one of the country’s regions.

“Elchi” reports that the press service of the President of Uzbekistan has released information regarding this.

It was noted that the projects were implemented in cooperation with foreign partners.

During the ceremony held as part of Mirziyoyev’s visit to Karakalpakstan, located in the west of the country, the construction of 47 new projects with a total value of 7 billion dollars was launched with the participation of foreign partners. The projects cover the fields of energy, industry, transport, medicine, digital economy, and services.

One of the projects was implemented jointly with Saudi Arabia. The active phase of the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 1.5 gigawatts has begun in one of the region’s districts. With Chinese partners, projects for the production of digital currency and the creation of data processing centers for artificial intelligence, with a total value of approximately 2.3 billion dollars, have been implemented. In addition, the creation of a gold mining enterprise worth 20 million dollars is planned at one of the deposits.

The President also launched the operation of 11 new facilities with a total value of 592 million dollars. These facilities include two wind power plants with a total capacity of 300 megawatts, an energy storage system with a capacity of 100 megawatts, a 100-bed hospital worth 27 million dollars built jointly with Saudi Arabia, and other projects.

According to the information, over the last nine years, the gross regional product of Karakalpakstan has increased more than sixfold. Thus, the indicator has risen from 8.5 trillion Uzbek soms, approximately 718.3 million dollars, to 54 trillion soms, which is over 4.5 billion dollars. During the same period, more than 5 billion dollars of foreign investment has been attracted to the region.
