The US has warned its allies that there could be delays of up to five years in the supply of key weapons as the country replenishes depleted ammunition stocks.

According to officials, a number of European countries report delays in the delivery of vital missile systems and air defense systems, as they have reduced their arsenals during the war between the US and Iran.
In particular, Germany has asked Washington to accelerate the delivery of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles and Typhon ground-based launchers. However, due to missile shortages, it is unlikely that their manufacturer, Raytheon, a unit of RTX Corp., will be able to fulfill the German order within five years.
According to two officials, some Eastern European countries using American weapons systems have also faced supply delays shortly after the start of the US-Israel war.
The Pentagon’s decision to prioritize replenishing its own stocks also complicates Ukraine’s efforts to obtain additional interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems from the US ahead of a difficult winter.
It is noted that the issue of air defense equipment, which Ukraine is in dire need of, will be one of the main topics at the UN meetings to be held in New York next week.
