During control measures carried out by employees of the State Environmental Security Service over the past week, facts of illegal cutting of greenery were discovered in the cities of Baku and Sumgayit.

It was stated that during the investigation, it was determined that 39,480 manats worth of damage was caused to greenery as a result of illegal tree cutting at the intersection of Kamil Balakishiyev, Mehdi Abbasov, and Nasimi streets in the Nizami district of Baku, as well as in the 4th microdistrict of Sumgayit.
Since the amount of damage caused to the greenery in each case constitutes a criminal offense, the collected materials have been sent to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
