Washington continues to work on ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict and maintaining contact with the leaders of both sides.
“Elchi” reports that US President Donald Trump stated this at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
“We are working very closely with the leaders of both sides,” he said, adding that things are moving faster than people realize.
Trump noted that approximately 25,000 young people die as a result of the conflict every month.
He also stated that he recently signed a bill passed by Congress regarding sanctions against Russia, and this law expands his authority to impose additional restrictions.
Trump said he would use these powers if necessary, and the law is aimed at tightening restrictions against Russia.
