The Iranian authorities have lifted the ban on the use of foreign messengers in government agencies.
elchi reports that this was announced by the spokesperson for the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Fatemeh Mohajerani.
“One of the decisions we have made in the last few days, which helps us take a stronger position in the information war, is the lifting of the ban on the activities of government agencies on foreign messengers,” she said at a press conference.
Mohajerani emphasized that this does not mean that official correspondence will be conducted through foreign messengers in government agencies: “Because previously, some documents were indeed sometimes leaked to foreign messengers.”
According to her, the main goal of this step is “to ensure the ability to respond promptly to emerging doubts and spread fake news, as well as to effectively counter psychological operations and information warfare conducted against Iran.”
