“Elchi” reports, citing “Haber Global”, that Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler said this during his speech at the ceremony held on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the granting of the honorary title of “Ghazi” and the rank of “Marshal” to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as “September 19 – Veterans Day”.
Stating that veterans are living symbols of the nation’s will for independence and sovereignty, Yaşar Güler said:
“At the most critical periods of our glorious history, you have fought with great courage and determination for our sacred values. Sometimes at the border, sometimes on the front line, and sometimes in the most difficult days of our country and our dear Azerbaijan, you have served the homeland and your duty with loyalty and have not shied away from any sacrifice. Each time, by bearing responsibility with the same high spirit, you have made great contributions to our countries reaching these days and to each of us looking to the future with confidence.”
The Minister stated that in this period when crises and conflicts continue in the near geography, Turkey, while protecting its own security, also acts as a responsible state that contributes to regional peace and stability:
“On one hand, we maintain our deterrence capabilities at the highest level for the security of our borders and the comfort of our nation, and on the other hand, we demonstrate an approach that prioritizes peace, stability, and dialogue in the resolution of international issues. From the Balkans to the Caucasus, from the Black Sea to the Middle East and Africa, Turkey’s activity in a wide geography is increasing day by day.
The tasks carried out by our heroic army in various geographies also clearly show the weight and responsibility of our country in the international security architecture. We are constantly developing the capabilities and skills of our army to maintain this position and reach even higher levels. Especially with the support and encouragement of our President, our local and national defense industry, which has made great progress in recent years, also makes exceptional contributions to our country’s strength and international influence, from security to the economy.”
