The 7th International Media Forum of Turkic-Speaking Journalists on the theme “Common media space of the Turkic world: digital integration and new opportunities” has been held in Istanbul.

“Elchi” reports that media representatives from Turkic states and European countries participated in the event, which was organized by the Kazakh Turkic-Speaking Journalists Foundation and the Kazakh Women Journalists Club.

At the opening, Naziya Bissenova, head of the organizing institutions, stated that the forum serves to expand cooperation among journalists and develop joint media projects.

Agil Alasgar, head of the “Yeni Çag” Media Group, moderated the panel on “Information security and new integration models.” During the panel, Yusuf Cinal, founder of “Inter Media Brussels,” spoke about the strategic opportunities of a common information space, while Adnan Öztürk, founder of the “Öztürk” newspaper published in Germany, discussed new models of international media cooperation. Sibel Güneş, Deputy Chair of the Turkish Journalists Association, addressed media challenges in the era of artificial intelligence.

Moderator Agil Alasgar emphasized the importance of strengthening direct news exchange among Turkic states: “The source of news about the Turkic world should be the Turkic world itself. For this, there is a need for a common news network, joint editorial projects, and continuous cooperation.”

In the second panel, moderated by Fügen Toksöz, speakers included Senur Biçer, Chair of the Board of “Arnica”; Şeref Oğuz, Chair of the Editorial Board of “Nasıl Bir Ekonomi”; Sertaç Ersayın, Chair of the Creative Industries Council Association; and Ahmet Tüzün, Chair of the Eurasian Culture and Sports Cooperation Association. The discussions were dedicated to creating a common Turkic brand, branding, creative industries, and tourism opportunities.

The third panel, dedicated to the economic sustainability of regional media, was moderated by Hediye Eroğlu, managing editor of the “Haberci” newspaper. Engin Şenol, founder of the “Kuzguncuk Varlık” newspaper; Ralida Mukhanova, chief producer of “Almaty TV”; Erbakıt Amantayoğlu, director of the “Kyzylzhar-Akparat” media holding; and Gürkan Kılıç, a lecturer at Sakarya University, shared their views on digital transformation, advertising revenues, and joint media projects.

In the end, a commemorative photo was taken, and it was announced that the next forum would be held in Brussels.
