French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that they want to reduce tensions in the Middle East, where fuel prices have risen due to conflicts, and create alternative energy routes to the Strait of Hormuz.
“Elchi” reports that Macron made a post on the “X” social media platform regarding the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaydi to Paris.
Emphasizing that al-Zaydi chose France for the first stage of his European tour, Macron noted that this visit demonstrates France’s role as a “balancing force” in the Middle East.
Emmanuel Macron stated that acting for the sake of stability in the region carries the same meaning as protecting French interests.
In this context, Macron expressed his desire to create alternative energy routes to the Strait of Hormuz in order to reduce regional tensions and alleviate pressure on fuel prices, while also calling for the strengthening of cooperation in the field of defense and security with regional allies.
