Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that Yerevan is interested in further deepening and developing relations with Russia, but in his opinion, a “new perspective” on Yerevan-Moscow relations is needed, taking into account the new realities in the region.
“Elchi” reports that he said this during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek.
According to Pashinyan, the situation in the region and around Armenia has changed in recent years, so relations between the two countries should be viewed in light of these new realities.
“In the context of the conflict, relations between Russia and Armenia had a different meaning, and now, as peace is being established in the region, it seems to us that we need to look at the situation with a new perspective,” the Prime Minister said.
He noted that such an approach would help the future development of relations between Armenia and Russia.
