Pakistan’s security forces have arrested more than 100 supporters of imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan after dispersing mass demonstrations demanding his release.

According to the publication, rallies and marches involving thousands of people took place in the largest cities of the Islamic republic at the call of the opposition “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf” party to mark the third anniversary of Imran Khan’s imprisonment. Police used tear gas and rubber batons to disperse opposition activists. There are numerous injuries, including journalists covering the event, in clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers in the cities of Lahore, Mianwali, and Rawalpindi.
