During a recent operation conducted by the Water Transport Police Department, a person engaged in illegal fishing in the Caspian Sea was detained.
“Elchi” reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, that as a result of environmental measures carried out by the Absheron Line Police Station, 30-year-old E.Cherkezov was identified and detained for illegal fishing near Zira settlement in the Khazar district. During the inspection, synthetic nets used for illegal fishing and 95 fish of various species with a total weight of 26 kilograms were discovered. The investigation revealed that the individual caused 1067 manats of material damage to nature.
An investigation into the case is ongoing.
