Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Vietnamese President To Lam at the “Turkish House” in New York during his participation in the 81st session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
“Elchi” reports that the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency released information regarding this.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Vietnam, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed.
Erdoğan expressed his satisfaction with Vietnam’s positive response to Turkey’s proposal to elevate relations between the two countries to the level of a strategic partnership.
He stated that Turkey is working to develop cooperation with Vietnam in a number of areas, primarily in investment, trade, and the defense industry.
The Turkish President emphasized the importance of both countries continuing their joint activities on the international stage.
During the meeting, Erdoğan congratulated To Lam on his election as President of Vietnam and invited him to the Leaders’ Summit of the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Turkey.
