During the first half of 2026, a total of 6,909 criminal incidents were recorded by the prosecutor’s office and internal affairs bodies of Baku, with a 93.2% clearance rate achieved.
elchi reports that this was stated during an operational meeting at the Baku City Prosecutor’s Office.
It was noted that as a result of measures taken in cooperation with the internal affairs bodies of Baku, all cases of intentional homicide and attempted intentional homicide committed in the capital during the first half of 2026 were solved.
It was reported that, in total, the city’s prosecutor’s office completed the preliminary investigation of 120 criminal cases during the reporting period, 70 of which were sent to the relevant courts for trial.
Meanwhile, the investigative units of the capital’s internal affairs bodies completed the investigation of 3,148 criminal cases during the reporting period, with 2,338 cases sent to the courts.
Regarding criminal cases where preliminary investigations were completed by the prosecutor’s office in Baku, a total of 6 million 432 thousand 712 manats, or 73.2%, of the 8 million 777 thousand 740 manats in material damage caused to the state, individuals, and legal entities was recovered.
