Large-scale cyberattacks have been observed against the information systems and resources of Azerbaijan’s state institutions over the past week.
elchi reports that this was stated by Nadir Novruzov, head of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, in a statement to journalists.
According to him, although cyberattacks against state institutions are regularly recorded, their scale has significantly increased in the last week.
“The attacks are mainly carried out in the form of DDoS and are aimed at disrupting the operation of the information systems of state institutions. In addition, we are observing attempts to interfere with various state information systems and the email accounts of government employees,” said Nadir Novruzov.
The head of the department noted that the main goal of the attacks is to disrupt the operation of state information systems and prevent citizens from receiving electronic services.
He added that the Special Communication and Information Security State Service continuously monitors cyberattacks and takes appropriate measures to prevent them.
