Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Senator Steve Daines, a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who is on a visit to our country.

It was stated that during the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership relations, the political and economic cooperation agenda, energy security, regional connectivity projects, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The parties emphasized the importance of developing high-level contacts and political dialogue between the two countries in terms of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
Discussing Azerbaijan’s growing role as a reliable partner in energy security, transport, and logistics, the parties exchanged views on initiatives implemented towards the development of the Middle Corridor and East-West transport routes.
During the discussion of regional connectivity and economic cooperation issues, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the dynamic development of Azerbaijan’s cooperation with Central Asian countries and the new opportunities of the C6 cooperation format in this context. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan has become one of the important transport and trade hubs of Eurasia due to the strengthening of East-West connections via the Caspian Sea, the development of the Middle Corridor, as well as the logistics and industrial infrastructure created in and around the Alat International Sea Trade Port.
The parties reviewed the current situation in the South Caucasus in the post-conflict period, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and the peace agenda.
During the meeting, the other party was provided with detailed information about the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as the opportunities created by the opening of transport and communication lines in the region for regional cooperation and economic integration.
The parties also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
