President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş on June 24.
“Elchi” reports that the head of state touched upon the importance of the participation of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States Conference.
Stating that other events within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held in our country in the future, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of further expanding relations between Islamic countries.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception and the high-level organization of the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States Conference, Numan Kurtulmuş conveyed the greetings of the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to the head of state.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his own greetings to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Emphasizing the importance of the event held in Baku in terms of expanding partnership within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the guest stated that the address of the head of state to the participants of the event was rich in content.
During the conversation, the importance of the Shusha Declaration was touched upon, the successful development of fraternal and allied relations between our countries in all directions, including the inter-parliamentary sphere, was noted, and it was stated that there is no example of Azerbaijan-Türkiye unity and brotherhood in the world, and this was assessed as our common wealth. It was emphasized that the friendship and brotherhood between our countries is an important factor in ensuring peace and security in the South Caucasus region.
At the meeting, the existing cooperation between our legislative bodies and the prospects for its further expansion were discussed.
