A concert dedicated to May 28 – Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the Lucerna Palace (Palac Lucerna), located in the center of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The concert was held with the support of the Diaspora Support Fund under the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and co-organized by the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis Living in Eastern Europe for the Czech Republic and the “Land of Fire” Society.
The event was attended by Akram Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Diaspora Support Fund, employees of the committee and the fund, representatives of the embassies of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Italy in the Czech Republic, socio-political and cultural figures, as well as members of communities friendly to our country.
People’s Artists Faig Sujaddinov and Alikhan Samadov, Honored Artists Shola Safaraliyeva, Kamran Karimov, and Elnur Mikayilov, the “Simurq” Mugham Ensemble, as well as the renowned mugham performer and khananda Miralem Miralemov provided the audience with unforgettable musical moments through their performances reflecting Azerbaijan’s rich national musical heritage, the subtleties of the mugham art, and cultural values. The music performed by our compatriot living in the Czech Republic, violinist Canel Najafli, who was named “Person of the Year” in 2020, was highly appreciated. The guests were impressed by both the cultural richness of Azerbaijan and the unique rarity of the mugham art, and this musical celebration turned into a cultural feast that will be remembered by the event participants for a long time.
At the end of the concert, the guests expressed their gratitude to the organizers for the high level of organization, the rich musical program, and the sincere atmosphere created. They emphasized that such events are of special importance in terms of strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and solidarity among peoples.
